A concordance is an alphabetical list of the words that appear in the Bible with references to every verse in which a given word appears. This is extremely useful if you find a key word in your text and want to know where else that same word is used in the Bible. Some concordances are described as “exhaustive,” which refers not their heft but to the fact that they include every word in the Bible. The better ones refer you to the Greek or Hebrew words too. The most famous of all is “Strong’s,” named after James Strong, a nineteenth-century scholar. It is widely available on the Internet and in the bookstores in various editions.
